Q. Impact of International Human Rights on Indian Constitution The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UNDHR), 1948 contains civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights. India is a signatory to the declaration. The constitution of India which came into force on 26 th January 1950 was greatly influenced by the declaration. The essence and the philosophy behind the UNDHR and the constitution of India are same. The Constitution of India recognizes these rights of the people and shows deep concern towards them. Constitution guarantees most of the human rights contained in Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Part III of the constitution contains civil and political rights, whereas economic, social and cultural rights have been included in Part IV of the Constitution.
